Biographies

Sherry Orson | Chief Creative Officer, Star Vibe Group

Sherry Orson is a veteran music publisher and licensor with an extensive track record of securing placements across film, television, advertising, and major recording artists. She began her career at Virgin Music Publishing and spent nearly a decade at Universal Music Group, placing songs with multi-platinum recording artists. As founder of Star Vibe Group, she represents independent artists and catalogs for sync across top platforms including Netflix, Amazon, Paramount +, Hulu and HBO.

Sherry also serves on the boards of the Association Of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) and the California Copyright Conference (CCC) and is an active member of A2IM.

Peter Davis | Owner, Tunestrone

Peter Davis is the owner of Tunestrone, a full-service music supervision, clearance, and management enterprise.  In addition to his work in reality television (on projects such as The Real World, The Challenge: All Stars, The Bad Girls Club, Are You The One, and Keeping Up With The Kardashians), Peter has worked on films like Plainclothes (winner, US Dramatic Special Jury Award for Ensemble Cast, Sundance 2025), F.L.Y. (winner, Best Soundtrack, FilmOut San Diego 2024), and the upcoming teen comedy “The Legend of Juan Jose Mundo.”  Peter’s work has been recognized by the Guild of Music Supervisors, with four nominations for Best Music Supervision in Reality Television.

Jonathan Finegold | Owner/Founder, Fine Gold Music

Jonathan is the owner and founder of Fine Gold Music. Prior, he was an A&R executive for Island Records, Q/Atlantic Records & Robbins/BMG & an A&R consultant where he worked with such artists/producers as Snoop Dog, Fat Joe, Steven “Lenky” Marsden, Wyclef John, Pitbull, Dawn Robinson & more.

Jonathan also provides music supervision and A&R services in projects ranging from documentaries, to indie films, ad campaigns to Billboard charting albums. He also manages Grammy award-winning producer Lenky, famous for the Diwali Riddim, and the Billboard #1 charting hit “Get Busy”, by Sean Paul. In addition, Jonathan executive produced It’s All About Dancing, a Jamaican dance-u-mentary.

He is currently an adjunct instructor in music business at both Marymount Manhattan College and the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Mr. Finegold holds both a Bachelors in accounting and finance and a Masters in arts administration, from New York University.

A hip-hop fixture since 1985, DJ and radio host “P Fine” has been instrumental in presenting advance hip hop and up-and-coming MCs through his radio show on the influential WNYU-FM, his writing via CMJ and Dance Music Report and DJ’ing and party promoting at clubs such as The World & Palladium. In the mid 80’s he was a fixture in the Manhattan club scene and was active in helping to bring hip-hop to the Downtown scene.

He is a Grammy voting member of NARAS and has lived in “Downtown” NYC for over 20 years.

Jonathan Lane | Music Supervisor + Founder, Clearly Music Services

Jonathan Lane is a music licensing executive and Music Supervisor providing creative music services to top film marketing agencies, advertising agencies, feature films, podcasts, and TV shows.

In 2015, he founded Clearly Music Services as a creative music supervision company positioned to meet the growing demands of entertainment marketing and brand advertising clients. Since then, it has quietly grown to become a secret weapon among savvy brands, trailer houses, film & TV production companies, and distributors, who require a full slate of contracted in-house music department services with a boutique turn-key approach.

In addition to Clearly Music, Jon previously ran the United States business as VP, Head of TV and Film, at Audio Network before transitioning to his current role of VP, Sync & Partnerships at Slipstream Music (the largest independent music-for-media catalog in the world) where he oversees sync strategy and business development.

Jon currently serves as Vice President of the California Copyright Conference (CCC), and he is an active freelance member of the Guild of Music Supervisors. He also runs a long-standing volunteer (completely free) music mentorship program called “Office Hours,” through which he has mentored over 300 emerging artists, songwriters, producers, and sync agents worldwide.

Amani “Burt Blackarach” Smith | Music Supervisor, Composer, Producer, DJ, & Publisher 

Amani “Burt Blackarach” Smith is a music supervisor, composer, producer, DJ, and publisher whose work shapes the sound of film, television, live events, and global culture. An award-winning music supervisor and dual-role composer, his credits span Netflix’s Oscar-nominated The Perfect Neighbor , the Oscar-shortlisted Stamped From the Beginning , ABC’s The Wonder Years, Nat Geo’s Genius: MLK/X , and Vice’s Running While Black, where
he co-wrote the main title with Public Enemy’s Chuck D.

For over two decades, he has collaborated with Chuck D on Public Enemy projects and created original music for The ESPYs, Sunday Night Baseball, The X Games, and ESPN franchises. As a producer and DJ, he has
worked with artists from Aerosmith to André 3000, opened for Prince, Jay-Z, and Nas, and created Airbnb’s top-rated experience Be A DJ For A Day. He also leads Salamani Music Publishing, the pioneering Black-owned publishing house founded by his parents in 1971, and brings its legacy to life through UnShazamable, his live DJ-driven storytelling show.
