Biographies:

Dana Childs | Managing Director, Sound As A Pound

Dana Childs is an independent music publisher, music rights advocate and licensing consultant. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Copyright Conference and has recently held high-level positions at both SESAC and Fender.  With a rich background in personal artist management, Dana now works closely with content creators and their teams, via a holistic approach, to create brand awareness in today’s music-technology market. Additionally, she develops and maintains relationships within the music publishing, composer and production communities, while educating clients on music business policies, trends, lobbying and legislation as those topics pertain to music copyright and related technological advancements.

Jane Bushmaker | Director, Royalty Audit & Contract Compliance, Adeptus Partners

Jane Bushmaker is a Director in the Royalty Audit & Contract Compliance Group of the accounting firm Adeptus Partners, where she specializes in royalty audits for intellectual property owners and licensors, with a focus on technology and digital service provider (DSP) audits. Jane’s clients include major copyright owners and royalty collection organizations. She is an expert at reviewing complex royalty licensing agreements and regulations in the technology, music, and entertainment industries, as well as liaising between legal and technical teams to ensure licensee compliance with royalty and reporting obligations or identify material issues. She has trained in several coding languages and possesses a deep understanding of systems, processes and controls, enabling her to evaluate and audit software, system architecture and electronic processes. Jane has also provided litigation support on a variety of high-stakes civil cases, specializing in eDiscovery activities and technologies related to electronically-stored information. Before joining Adeptus, Jane was Director of Royalty Audit & Contract Compliance at Prager Metis CPAs, and Senior Manager of Digital Audits at Royalty Review Council.

Jeremy Goldman | Partner, Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz PC

Jeremy Goldman is a partner at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz PC, where he has been litigating cases and counseling clients on novel issues at the intersection of intellectual property and technology for nearly 15 years. Kristen Johns | Chief Legal Officer, The Mechanical Licensing Collective

Kristen is responsible for leading The MLC’s strategic legal affairs, as well as managing the statutory blanket licensing process for digital service providers and overseeing compliance with statutory obligations. She also teaches “Blockchains” as an Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University Law School.

An experienced intellectual property and technology lawyer, Kristen comes to The MLC from Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP in Nashville, where she was a partner at the firm. During her tenure at Waller, she advised clients on a variety of IP-related issues, including data security, privacy laws, and emerging technologies. Prior to joining Waller, Kristen served as the General Counsel for a technology start-up and in-house Counsel for a healthcare IT company. In 2019, she received a “Women of Influence Award” from the Nashville Business Journal, recognizing her leadership in the Nashville business and legal communities. Kristen holds a J.D. from the Saint Louis University School of Law and a B.S. in Engineering Science from Vanderbilt University.

Natalia Nastaskin | Chief Content Officer, Primary Wave Music Publishing LLC

In her role as Chief Content Officer at Primary Wave Music Publishing, Natalia is responsible for creating monetizable opportunities across the entertainment, metaverse and media landscapes for the company’s legendary and iconic artists and music catalogues. Natalia leads content development strategies in film, television, podcasts, emerging platforms and live events. She has been integral in the company’s journey into digital collectibles with an investment into Dapper Labs-backed platform, Unblocked, as well as coordinating NFT drops for Primary Wave’s catalogues and artists including Whitney Houston and Cypress Hill, with many more in the pipeline.

Prior to joining Primary Wave, Natalia was General Manager of the Global Music Group at United Talent Agency, where she oversaw a team of over 100 music agents and 150 support staff across six offices and helped establish the group as a leader in talent representation. At UTA, Natalia was instrumental in building out the group’s brand partnership, innovation, tour marketing, business affairs and client services divisions, and she played a key role in the music division’s mergers and acquisitions strategy.

Recognized as a power player in the music industry, Natalia has received multiple features on Billboard’s annual “Women in Music” and “Power 100” lists, and on Variety’s “Women’s Impact” lists. Natalia is on the Music Industry Advisory Board for Save The Music Foundation, serves on Primary Wave’s Diversity and Inclusion Task Force and has had the honor of being a Zafris Lecturer at Berklee College of Music.
