“Future Outlook of Music Publishing: Is The Pie Growing?”
Music publishing has constantly been challenged by pivotal periods of change. As streaming and licensing have continued to mature and new platforms emerge, the industry is seeing evolving revenue streams from performance, mechanicals, sync, and digital uses. But a core question remains: is the overall economic pie for music publishing actually growing?
This panel will examine whether and how publishing revenues are expanding in meaningful ways—and whether that growth is translating into higher valuations for songs and catalogs. Panelists will explore the impact of global streaming growth, investor demand for music rights, and the surge of catalog acquisitions over the past decade. The discussion will also consider whether recent valuation multiples are sustainable in the years ahead.
