MAGGIE CHIBIDAKIS

Maggie Chibidakis is a transactional music and entertainment attorney representing artists, producers, record labels, production companies, and other entertainment professionals across the music, film, and television industries. Her practice focuses on drafting and negotiating agreements and advising clients on copyright, licensing, contract interpretation and disputes, rights of publicity, royalty matters, and intellectual property issues.

At the Law Offices of David A. Helfant, Maggie handles a broad range of music and entertainment matters, including recording, publishing, songwriter, producer, licensing, production, and other agreements. Her work also includes catalog management and acquisitions, chain of title and preliminary due diligence, copyright and intellectual property enforcement and defense, and pre-litigation strategy and settlements.

Maggie is active in music industry education and professional organizations. She mentors students at California State University, Northridge and Southwestern Law School. She has been a member of the California Copyright Conference since 2020, and recently joined the Scholarship Committee and Legal Committee.

A musician for more than 15 years, Maggie began playing saxophone at a young age and has performed throughout the Los Angeles area in jazz, orchestral, and wind ensembles. Her experience as a musician drives her passion for mentoring and supporting emerging artists and industry professionals and helping make the legal and business side of the industry more approachable and understandable.

In September, 2026, Maggie launched MaggieOnMusic.com, a professional platform featuring her writing and analysis on the legal, business, and creative issues shaping the music industry, with the goal of making these topics more accessible to emerging artists and industry professionals.
